You Don’t Need to be Falling Apart to Need Support
Do you recognise any of these patterns? If so, working with a male therapist, men’s counsellor or life coach for men can help. But what’s the difference?
-
Maybe you’re drained but still pushing through?
-
Maybe work has become your entire identity?
-
Maybe your head never properly switches off?
-
Maybe low moods, anxiety or addictions are running the show?
-
Maybe everyone thinks you’re fine because you’ve got good at looking fine?

The Let's Pivot Approach...
Shaped by professional training and real-world experience of what it’s like to manage stress, identity and expectation while still trying to function day to day. Alongside clinical training in counselling, life coaching, trauma work and neuro linguistic programming, we bring a practical, no-nonsense understanding of people and how they actually operate under pressure.
Areas Pivot Works With
-
Depression & Anxiety
-
Post Traumatic Stress Disorder
-
Addiction
-
Relationship Issues
-
Changes in Circumstance
-
Life Transition
What We Offer

Yes. While Pivot is intentionally focused on men’s mental health, we also work with women who feel aligned with this style of direct, grounded, conversational support.
The practice was built around men because that’s where the gap is most obvious, but the work itself is not gender restricted.
If you feel drawn to this approach, you’re welcome here.

Meet Jon
(and Nelson)
“Hi, I’m Jon, and I’m so glad you’re here. I’m a BACP registered counsellor and AC-registered life coach. Alongside that, I’ve trained in trauma work, NLP, IEMT and mental health first aid, as with all good counsellors, the studies continue in order to develop my knowledge. I’ve also spent a fair bit of time actually sitting with people in the real work, not just studying it.
Before all of this, I spent about 15 years in Marketing and PR. Fast-paced, high-pressure, always-on kind of work where you get very good at reading people, managing chaos and making things look calm when they absolutely are not.
Before that, I worked in professional cookery, which is basically another version of the same thing…just with more knives and shouting. It taught me discipline, resilience and how to stay steady when everything around you is moving quickly and loudly.
Probably explains a lot, in hindsight.
Most of my work now sits around men’s mental health; anxiety, burnout, trauma, addiction and those moments where life stops making sense in the way it used to.
And if there’s one thread through all of it, it’s this: people usually aren’t broken, they’re just carrying more than they can comfortably hold, for longer than they should have had to.”

What Let's Pivot Counselling Helps With
People come here when things have stopped feeling manageable, not necessarily dramatic, just persistent and draining.
Common areas include:
-
Anxiety and Overthinking
-
Depression and Low Mood
-
Trauma and PTSD Responses
-
OCD and Intrusive Thinking
-
Addiction and Coping Behaviours
-
Burnout and Work Stress
-
Relationship Strain
-
Life Transitions and Identity Shifts
You don’t need to have a perfect explanation.
If something feels off, that’s enough to start.

How Let's Pivot Counselling Works
Pivot Counselling isn’t a script. It’s not someone sitting in silence while you guess what to say next. It’s active. Human. Honest when it needs to be. And always grounded in what you need that day with a men’s therapist who really listens. Our approach is integrative, drawing on:
Person-Centred Counselling
Cognitive Behavioural Therapy - Informed thinking
Trauma-Aware Practice
Neuro-Linguistic Programming (where appropriate)
Most importantly, sessions move with you. Some days that means unpacking what’s going on. Other days, it means cutting through the noise and getting clear on what actually needs to change.
You set the pace. We keep it real.

Counselling That Doesn’t Talk Down to You
Real conversations. Straight thinking. Zero judgement. Just space to sort your head out properly.
You don’t need to be “bad enough” to be here. Most men don’t reach out until things are already loud. Stress is spilling into work. Sleep is broken. Anxiety is constant background noise. Or something just feels off, and you can’t quite explain it. And still, there’s hesitation. In fact, almost half of men think there’s a stigma around seeking mental health support.
“Do I actually need this?”
“What if I get judged?”
“Is this going to be awkward and clinical?”
“I should probably just deal with it myself.”
That’s the stuff that keeps people stuck. Working with Pivot is about getting honest about what’s actually going on…and doing something about it.
Men's Mental Health
The stigma in numbers — what UK data shows
75%
of suicides registered in England and Wales are male. Suicide is the leading cause of death in men under 50.
36%
of referrals to NHS talking therapies (IAPT) are men — men are far less likely than women to access support.
15% vs 24%
of men have a common mental health condition vs 24% of women — pointing to under-diagnosis driven by stigma.
40%
of men have never spoken to anyone about their mental health — 29% say they feel too embarrassed to do so.
What Let's Pivot Coaching helps with
People usually come to coaching because they know something needs to change, but they cannot fully see the route forward yet.
Common areas include:
-
Career change or progression
-
Leadership and performance pressure
-
Confidence and assertiveness
-
Feeling stuck or directionless
-
Work-life balance and burnout prevention
-
Identity shifts and major life transitions
-
Motivation and accountability
Sometimes the issue is external.
Sometimes it is the internal chatter stopping someone from acting.
Usually, it is both.
This Isn’t Generic Life Coaching
Forget vision boards and meaningless motivational fluff, Pivot Coaching is practical, grounded and direct. Together we identify:
What’s keeping you stuck
Where your thinking is getting in your own way
What actually matters to you and what needs to happen next
Then we work on it.
Our process is structured without being rigid. We agree goals, track progress and challenge patterns, but if something more important shows up in the room, we deal with that instead.
Real life first. Framework second.
You’re Not Lost. You’re Just Stuck in the Noise.
From the outside, life probably looks fine. You’re functioning. Working. Performing. Showing up. But internally, are you second-guessing yourself?
Overthinking every decision? Drifting without direction? Burnt out but still pushing?
A lot of people hit a point where something no longer fits, be it the career, the routine, the relationship or the version of themselves they’ve been carrying for years.
That’s where Pivot Coaching comes in. Not to reinvent your personality or sell you some “best self” fantasy. A male life coach who helps you get clear thinking, make decisions properly and move forward - finally.

Understanding Let’s Pivot
You don’t have to keep white-knuckling your way through it.
Founded by BACP-affiliated, qualified counsellor and AC-registered life coach, Jon Corbett, Let's Pivot was created from a simple observation: a lot of people are getting by…but not actually fine.
Offering mental health support primarily for men, our men’s coaching and men’s counselling services meet you where you are. This is not passive therapy. It is active engagement with your life.
Our approach is present, conversational and responsive to what is actually happening for someone in the room.
For some people, that means clarity.
For others, it means change.
For many, it is simply getting unstuck from patterns that have been running in the background for too long.

What You Can Expect
-
Honest conversations that get to the point
-
Practical, forward-moving approach
-
Challenge where it’s useful, not comfort where it keeps you stuck
-
A balance of talking things through and actually doing something with it
-
Someone who listens properly, but also helps you see patterns clearly
-
A focus on real change, not just “understanding yourself”
-
Sessions that feel human, not procedural or detached
